1. My work experience has been limited, but benefitial. I have worked for the past two summers at a United moving company in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Last summer I was just being introduced to the world of moving and didn't have too many responsibilities. I just helped wherever was needed. My officaial title was "assistant coordinator," but that basically ment that I did what the coordinators needed. My supervisor was Cathy Gooderham. This summer I have an internship at the same company. I am currently the "Origin Agent Coordinator." When other companies nead our assistance moving someone out of my area, they contact me and I organize the survey to be completed, the packing to take place, and any auxilary services required. In a few weeks I will be adding to these responsibilities and I will be doing surveys in peoples homes to calculate and estimate the weight of the shipment that they have moving. My supervisor this year is Nate Corrigan.
2. I have not volunteered long term at any nonprofit organization.
3. This summer is my first internship type occupation. Please see (1).
4. My psychology classes have actually been the most beneficial to my job. I am a psychology major as well as a management major so I am taking psych classes. They have taught me to understand people better. I am also currently working on a special project to design the yellow pages ad for the company. My psych background has really helped here.
5. I recieved a scholarship from The Ann Arbor News for being a Young Citizen of the Year Finalist. I have also recieved two sholarships from the National Honor Society for service and exceptional leadership. The last scholarship is from Purdue for academics.
6. I think one area that makes me marketable it that I am going to have two different degrees. My psych degree will help me with sales or with managing in the future. This is something that I will be proficient at that is different then most people.
7. I have conducted many workshops for younger kids to teach them about outdoor skills, safety, and crafts.
8. My computer skills extend as far as CS 235 has taught me: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.
9. I can't think of any equipment that I have skills working with.
