Resume Extravaganza

5,8, 12, 20, 21
The five resumes that I choose were 5,8,12,20,21. Unfortunately, the first observation I made was in the beginning I was more alert. However, by the end I was already tired of reading resumes and began to only read those that caught my eye. I like how the number 12 resume was different from every ones. This person put their highlights first. I liked that because then I didn’t have to read the rest, I was already impressed. I imagine this is similar to how an HR representative feels when reading and glancing at so many resumes. It taught me that I need to do something different to make my resume stand out from a glance because if they are anything like me then they probably are not going to read every one. I liked this activity. It also showed how different people look for different aspects in a resume that they would choose to interview! It shows that resumes are essentially pot luck;however a good resume is going to eventually get the attention it deserves. I would say that people are consistently picking a top 10 although their top 5 is varied!

5 – Great work experience, very diverse! Perfect GPA! Very well organized and easy to read! It just caught my eye! Plus it was one of the early ones!
8 – Very relevant work experience! Obtains needed certifications (well prepared)! Simple resume but direct!
12-Already mentioned but he has great work experience and is very active on campus as a leader. I think this is someone who is going to make an impact!
20-Excellent GPA. Varied work experience! Well organized, easy to read! Very accomplished and involved.
21- Great use of fonts and accents within word. Very involved. Very easy to look through due to accents on significant parts! Stood out!
