Resume Extravaganza

This was a great activity! I've never viewed resumes from the "other side" before. I've only looked at my resumes or my friend's resumes to help them. I've never read resumes like an HR coordinator and now I realize how difficult their job must be on a daily basis! I don't think I could do this everyday. It was very tough because all the resumes were great but my top five resumes are 5, 9, 13, 22, and 29. I chose these five resumes because they were all very organized and the content of the resumes matched their objective statement. They also had lots of information but wasn't too much information on one page. As I was scanning the resumes, I read the objective statement first and then scanned the work experience and activities. If these didn't support the objective statement, I went to the next resume. I also paid attention to the organization and which resumes were the easiest to read. This activity has given me ideas on how to arrange my resume so it is easier to read or more eye-catching. It has also shown me different uses of bold and italics that I could utilize in my own resume. This activity was a great in helping me with my own resume as well as viewing my resume from a different perspective.
