Resume Extravaganza

Choosing 5 resumes out of the 32 that were offered was not as difficult as I thought. There were a definite 5 that jumped out at me. The ones that did were numbers 5, 19, 20, 18, and 22. These resumes all had something in common. First, the sections were clearly marked which is something I think is extremely important. The easier it is to read and the nicer it is to look at, the more the resume jumps out at you.

It is interesting that something such as the format would make a resume stand out. The reason this is interesting is because in the end, job experience, GPA, and educational background are the things that matter the most. It would be silly to lose a job over the fact that someone did not take the time to format their resume.

Another thing these resumes had in common were work experience. I think that is the most important section of the resume. Reason is, work experience directly pertains to your job in the future. Experience cannot be compared to schooling. This is something that definitely impressed me with these 5 resumes.

I've noticed that these resumes seem to appear in the blogs a lot. This truly shows that they are great resumes and are probably picked by HR representatives quite frequently. This would be reason enough to look at these resumes and pick up some tips from them. Overall, I thought this class did a pretty good job with the assignment.
