There are many theories that support the benefits of group projects. As a matter of fact, in Krannert, almost all classes have huge group projects that are supposed to teach us about the real world. Recruiters, often ask you question about experiences working in groups, yet, I believe group projects to be unrealistic, complicated and contra productive. In a long distance course this can be even more complex. To start with, we don’t have a meeting place other than a virtual chat or post, time differences with different schedule and activities can add to the complexity. Cultural differences, problems with technology along with communications problems can make of this situation a more difficult one. I hope that in my group these problems are minimized.
