In our group this week we started out with introductions, sharing who we are and where we are for the summer. We shared contact information and are still working out the best way to communicate which will probably be all hammered out before Monday rolls around. One of our members, Suchet, is all the way in Singapore and thus 13 time zones away. This was kind of a shock and will require a little more effort than the usual 1-2 hour time gaps between members. It just means we need to communicate effectively and stick to our plans so we don't fall behind and can't contact someone. It will be difficult, but not impossible. After getting to know each other a bit, we decided to look at the project material closer and get an idea for the Gantt chart. Then we wanted to put some of our ideas together and see how it turned out. Rachel has been really good at getting the lines of communication open, and I try to respond as quickly as I can when a group email goes out. Rachel put together the Gantt chart this morning and we've spent the early afternoon making small changes to it to help improve it. This week was a tad difficult since it was the first week and I was out of town at a convention for my major. I think if we keep the communicating going and find a smooth way to all communicate quickly the rest of the project will go a lot better than I originally anticipated.
