This week our team met for the first time and it was very productive. During our first meeting, we introduced ourselves as well as assigned positions for each member. I was assigned the technical work of the group and my first job was to design the Gantt chart. First, we all decided which information to include on the chart and time intervals for each task. When we finished our discussion, I began to progress with the chart. After the chart, we also assigned positions to whom is responsible for design, contacting, and so forth. We are making sure to plan ahead for all of our tasks so we will provide ourselves ample time to give each other feedback considering we are never going to be able to meet face-to-face and our schedules are all very different. Because of this, we all agreed that our best method for contacting will be via email, but we will also try to gather up in an AIM chat room a couple times a week so we will be able to brainstorm ideas at the same time.
Since we just met for the first time, I thought it was going to be a little awkward to communicate and try to collaborate with people I have never met before. Fortunately, we all were able to get along really well and nobody held back their ideas for improvement. Our group seems to have good chemistry and we share similar ideas, so I expect we will be successful in this project.
