On Tuesday, July 10 I received my group assignment by e-mail from my instructor. I e-mailed my three other group members and gave them my cell phone number, AIM screen name, and my work and summer class schedule so they would know when I would be best available. Through e-mails, we figured out that we are in different places and we all have busy schedules that are often very different. We also have to account for differences in time zones when we make plans. I contacted David and Suzanne through AIM on Wednesday night and we discussed ideas for the Gantt Chart and expectations of the project. On Thursday night, I met all my team members in a chat room on AIM and we worked on the Gantt Chart. Ben designed the chart while David, Suzanne, and I all told him how to divide the chart into categories and divided the responsibilities among us. I commented on the chart after Ben sent it to us. We decided to change the color of the due date from white to yellow because it was easier to see. I changed this on the chart and then submitted the chart for the group.
I plan to contact my group members this weekend to start working on the brochure. We all have great ideas and seem to work well together. Although I have never met my group in person, I feel very comfortable talking to them in e-mails and AIM. It is very easy to share and discuss ideas. I look forward to continue working with my group members and learning from them.
