***This is Work Blog Week 5 not Week 6
So far, so good! I would say this week has been a good start to what I hope to be a very good group and final product. We started this week out on Tuesday by emailing each other and expressing how excited we were about the project. Beth was the first to lead off the email with a quick introduction and we all shortly followed. We exchanged AIM contacts, email addresses, facebook accounts, and phone numbers. So far email seems to be our primary means of communication, but as the project goes on I hope to at least try out the wiki space.
As far as work goes, Beth was the first to send out an email with the work that needed to be done. She asked for everyone to evenly separate work loads and if anyone had any preferences or talents. We separated the work load out and Beth began working on the Gantt chart. As for me, I was very happy with my group for understanding my late response to the emails. I explained to the group I was taking my girlfriend to Chicago for her birthday present to see a play and I would be away from the computer for the night. I was very happy and impressed to see how understanding they were. This is exciting to me to know how trustworthy our group already is and I look forward to working with them.
Overall, I think we have made it very clear in our group that communication is going to be the key to making an amazing project. If one group member is feeling overwhelmed we are going to be there to make sure we can get through any problems together.
In conclusion, this is going to be a great experience to work with a team in a distance-learning setting. I’m excited to see how everything goes next week when the bulk of the work actually starts.
