This week’s reading was extremely useful. In my case I thought getting the information together for the first draft was extremely important. We tried to use short sentences so that the matter is easy to understand. We did not however do a lot with the format which I think is one of the changes I would like to make based on the reading. We used the same format for the headers which gave the brochure some continuity.
I wanted to add more visual aid but I problem finding pictures I could use, so that too is a change I think our group would like to make next week. The importance of visual aid was really brought out its reading. Its use makes the whole document more effective and more appealing to the eye.
Keeping the brochure audience oriented in this case was actually quite difficult because anyone from a little child to elderly person could be reading this. We thus tried to keep the sentences short and simple to everyone can understand it. Visual aids in a case like this because visual aid can appeal to everyone, A picture of a child playing with her pet gives the child a feeling if familiarity and the innocence of the child puts a smile on a grown ups face.
I think our basic format is ok but it needs to be designed a little more to make it a little more appealing to the eye. The guidelines given in the text book are really helping in this aspect.
This reading overall was quite informative and helpful.
