Work Blog #2, Week 6

My group and I accomplished a lot this week. We did, however, run into some difficulties with the Course Chat Room. This posed a problem for us to communicate on Tuesday evening and I suggested that Melissa and I communicate on AIM. She had started a group chat room, which was a great asset and notified the other members to get on AIM when they could. We all came to a consensus that we should each do an individual part and pass the document on through email. I decided to start the project by selecting an event brochure layout, designing the front, back, event background, and organization background pages. By the end of all the revisions from group member to group member, the end result of draft one turned out great. Each person added their own creative style, which compiled into a unique group effort. This success was a collaborative effort that required a lot of strategic time and artistic planning. Tuesday evening was the ideal time slot for the group members to participate and about 95% of the project was completed. We considered all the aspects from of the chapters when designing the brochure, particular the principles of design and audience. After my work on the project, I did appreciate all the comments and artistic revisions made by my group members. Some points that we have realized needs more attention is the addition of visual images and implementing the principle of conciseness. I am very eager to work on the second draft of the brochure and am excited to see how the finished product turns out.
