This week has been a very productive week for both myself and my group. To start the week off I posted a simple organizational layout for a tri fold brochure as an idea for my group to use. My group seemed to like the idea and that layout ended up being the organization we took when we designed the brochure. Next, I organized the research that I found on the internet. I went through and made sure that our group fulfilled all the requirements and that I found all the necessary information that we were supposed to put on the brochure. I organized it in a word document and posted it on the wiki page.
My group set the goal of having a "brainstorm" meeting on the chat page set up by the class. However, members of my group had difficulty signing on to that chat page so we ended up having a meeting on instant messanger where I sent out a chat request. One group member was absent but the overall productivity of the meeting was very successful.
A group member suggested we split up the brochure into text and design. I chose the design part, but unfortunately I do not have Microsoft Publisher so that left my group to having to use Microsoft Word and split the page into three columns. Working in this program made the design part more difficult especially since the program is not designed to create brochures in the column format. However, we made it work thanks to one particular group member. One group member sent me half the text layout and I added photos and some font choices and sent the draft on to my design partner. Unfortunately, a particular group member had a family crisis this week and was unable to fulfill his responsibilities so I did his part of the brochure by completely the remaining required texts.
I worked diligently and hard this week to complete the required tasks. I think the first draft of the brochure is a great start.
