Seeman Work Blog Week #6

Over the weekend, I e-mailed the members of my group about the upcoming week’s rough draft due. Each member started thinking of ideas and researched the Community Family and Resource Center. We met in a group chat on AIM on Monday night and shared our ideas. We also divided the textual part of the brochure between each member. We agreed to meet again on Tuesday night and I sent out a reminder e-mail with the time for both time zones and which part each member was supposed to write. I wrote about the volunteer opportunities. I divided them up between before the event, Christmas Day Dinner opportunities, and post event. I also used a bulleted list for describing the volunteer opportunities. On Tuesday night, we met in another group chat on AIM. We shared our parts of the text to make sure they were free of spelling and grammar errors. David started putting our brochure together with just the text on the white background. On Wednesday, Ben finished the draft by adding color and pictures. Ben e-mailed the draft to the group and we commented with changes and feedback. After each member had decided the rough draft of the brochure was ready, I converted the brochure from Microsoft Publisher to a PDF file and submitted it to the website. I read the instructor’s comments today on our brochure and my group and I are going to work this weekend on making the brochure more appealing to the reader’s eye and following the principles in the book more closely.
