Soo Yun Work Blog Week 6

This week has been very busy creating our first draft of general information brochure. Since I was responsible for designing the brochure, I started brainstorming last weekend about the big frame. I searched for various brochures that are already made to get some ideas and broad a perspective. I focused on the organization of information, the way to place each section effectively. Also I searched for the pictures I will be including along contents that can match to the background colors as well. As I divided huge information into small categories, I send email to our instructor to make clear idea of the contents for the brochure. Since there was lots of information on the web, although they asked us for general information, I wasn’t so sure how much I can limit the information at the same time including enough sources. After I received email from instructor I could come up with better plan deciding what information to put and not to. I send emails to my group members about my first process of big frame of design to get some feedback and the email from instructor so that everybody could have better understanding about the project.

I used green colors to match to the colors they used in The Humane Society’s official web site, green. I used different green colors for background and font to give impression that the organization was related to mother nature, trying to protect animals who are in danger and find a way to live together. The Clinton Humane Society was located in the park which can also be connected to green colors.

It was my first time designing something like this huge and it was difficult than I thought. But once I have finished designing general information brochure it was much easy to design caring for pet brochure. Sending emails and receiving emails from member worked effectively doing the work.
