This week I continued revising the "Caring for Your Pet" brochure that Alayna and I created. I searched online and found some more websites that offered royalty free pictures and looked over them. I was able to find new pictures for three new pictures that I put into the brochure for our second draft. I think all three of these new pictures are much better than the old ones I had in there and they make our brochure look a lot neater and more professional. Along with changing the pictures, I did some research on complementary colors. I found out that orange is a complementary color to blue and not yellow as I had originally thought. Even though yellow is not a complementary color it provides good contrast with the blue background. Because of this I kept the first page headers as the same yellow font that I originally used. For the headers on the second page I used an orange since it is a complementary color to blue. I then have asked Ryan to ask the Humane Society to say which color combination they like better. Since this is a brochure they might use one day I thought it was best that they have some say in how it should look. Also in doing the peer editing of other groups I got some ideas of how they are creating their brochures and I was able to compare their design to ours. I think both of our brochures look really good and I'm interested to see what kind of feedback the Humane Society will give.
