Seeman Work Blog Week #7

On Sunday, I e-mailed my group members about meeting times to work on our revision of our first draft. We all realized we had a lot of work to do but we didn’t let the comments on our first draft ruin our work ethic or our teamwork. We remained positive. We met Monday night in an AIM chat room and discussed the main parts of the brochure that needed to be changed. We also brainstormed new ideas for our second draft. Ben started making revisions from our ideas. On Tuesday afternoon, Ben and I discussed the revisions on AIM. We each worked on changes using our own ideas as well as the ideas from the group. We e-mailed our versions of the brochure to the group. On Tuesday night, Ben, Suzanne, and I met in an AIM chat room and discussed the two versions of the brochure. We continued to move parts of the brochure like the logo of the Community and Family Resource Center until we liked the final product. I converted the color brochure to grayscale. I converted both brochures from Microsoft Publisher to a .pdf file and submitted them to the website. On Wednesday, I commented on Weber’s Group 4 brochures and also read the comments from the members of Weber’s Group 4 on our brochures. I e-mailed the group and reminded them to read the comments on our brochure. On Thursday, I wrote my reading response about “The 5 Minute Brochure Design Trash Test” and commented on my group members’ responses. This was very helpful because I was able to see how the others felt about our brochure and it also made me look at our brochure differently when reading their thoughts that were different than mine. I e-mailed my group the comments that we received from the CFRC on Thursday night too. Our group works very well together and we haven’t had any conflicts. We worked very hard to improve our second draft of the brochure and I feel that we succeeded.
