Roberts Work Blog Week 7

This was a very hectic week for my group. For the project this week, I just began making revisions to draft 1 and communicating with my group. My group was given a lot of revision comments for draft 2, but unfortunately we never organized exactly how we were going to make those revisions. I think everyone contributed in some way, but it ended up being on the night it was due myself and another group member sending it back and forth to finish it up. The group member decided we needed to add more information so he changed our brochure from a tri-fold to a quad-fold, which increased the text amount tremediously. I hope our group decides to go back to a tri-fold since all the peer feedback commented on the amount of text (information) given in our brochure. The tri-fold was more of a summary of volunteer opportunities and just gave our audience a taste and the information of where to find out more.
Since the brochure was changed from a tri-fold to a quad-fold we had to add a lot of information, and change the layout. I began researching on the CFRC's site again looking for pictures and detailed information to fill out the new brochure layout. I watched the entire slideshow on the homepage looking for pictures to put in the brochure. I tried to make the pictures I chose relate to the text surrounding it.
This week our group had a lot of technological trouble with the design and layout. To start, I could not get the gray background to work and then when I tried to convert it into a pdf document it distorted all the design done in Microsoft Word. I think this is what happens when you get down to the details at the end. My group and I are meeting this Monday to discuss revisions for the final draft.
