STUDTMAN Work Blog Week 7

Week 7 was another good week for Tirrell Group 1 on the service learning project. We started this week out similar to the other weeks. We emailed ideas of the projects’ design and revisions of the text. When revising, we looked at our instructor feedback and took into account the past weeks reading.

I started to get the revision emails on Saturday. From here I began to modify our design and text. I received several emails from Rachel and Meepa, but due to Beth being out of town she was not able to send a lot of input this week. Most of my time for this project is spent on working on the actual design. This is an important detail of the project and I spend a lot of time on different aspects of it this week. First, I worked on making sure our brochure is properly aligned on all six folds. Our previous draft did not have all the pictures and text centered on the page, but I think we have corrected the problems. Next, I worked on our color brochures’ color scheme. I tried several different backgrounds and I think we have come to a good look. In the end, I took an idea from our group to make our brochure have a Christmas color scheme. We hope this will catch the eye of potential volunteers and put them in the giving/volunteering mood. I also have worked on adding and rhetorically placing pictures of the event in our brochure. I think this is a very good addition and makes it look much better.

So far, I think our group is doing very well. For this upcoming week, I hope to get more revisions of our work. I would like our entire group to look at the other group members sections and make sure they sound like they are concise and from one author. I would also like a lot of input on how our design looks. When we submit our project, I want it to be exactly what our entire group wants.
