Since I was in Vegas for work last week and did not have any time, this week I did much of the work. Matt, Samana and I worked it out that I would do the second draft revisions. With one person doing both of the revisions, it made it easier to make the brochures look uniform. I first read the instructor comments and took those into consideration. I think all the comments were very helpful. From these, I got a better picture of what directions the brochures needed to go. I changed the symbol we were using for the Humane Society since it was not the correct logo. Instead, I grabbed some free images of dogs of the Internet.
Much of my work this week involved familiarizing myself with Microsoft Publisher. I think it was a great idea to use this program because it adds so much professionalism to our document. Only downside is that it takes a bit of time to learn how to use it. I think after receiving peer review and instructor comments on our second draft, we now have a very good idea of what they need to look like. From the comments that I read, I found that our care information brochure needs much more attention than the general information brochure. Improving this brochure will be the main priority of our group this week.
