a late week 16 blog

podarcze — Sun, 12/14/2008 - 16:50

I realize this is late again, and everyone has probably already submitted their individual evaluations, but I should put this up here anyway. This week, my main concern was to get the website done. We had a basic idea at the start of the week. My main goal was to get all of the links working on Monday. We got these to work, and then we looked at how we can improve them. I worked with the front end team to get all the links on there and getting them in order.

week 16

s5m32l3 — Sat, 12/13/2008 - 00:07

This week our team was busier than the past weeks. I helped update the Gantt chart. We had to add some more time to some tasks; color coordinated some more things, and added a few more things to it. We also kept all the teams on task every minute of the class period because we were pushing it to complete the project on time. We set a couple deadlines to get the website up in time for the docs and testing team to have time to test the site and finish their documents. At the start of every class our team again led a discussion to see where all the teams were at.

Week 16 Work Blog

RhythmRunneR — Fri, 12/12/2008 - 23:23

This final week has been both stressful and relieving. While we had much to do to get the project completed on time, it was a great feeling having it finished on Friday. On Monday I was not present in class due to staying up late for another project, but I was notified by e-mail that backend had completed a lot of work and that we were finally approaching the finish line. On Wednesday the class was still making minor changes and updates to the site, but for the most part the project was done.

Kevin Parkerson Week 15 Blog

RhythmRunneR — Fri, 12/05/2008 - 22:24

This week has been much different than previous weeks in that our organizational team had to focus on helping frontend with some of their tasks. Due to various unforeseen problems, frontend was behind in their progress on Monday of this week. As such, we decided a one-day classroom focus would be needed to get them where they needed to be. By unifying the class as a whole we were able to successfully get frontend up to where they should be in the gantt chart.

Week 15 Blog

podarcze — Fri, 12/05/2008 - 18:13

For this week, my main goal was to figure out what we can do to get the website working in exactly one week. I was working with the front end team to get the template for actual website. I worked with them in planning what to do now that we know what to do. Since we know that we are doing a CSS page, now we just had to work on who was going to do what, and what our timetable was for it.

This week has been yet another challenge. Starting on Monday, I was unable to make it to class due to some transportation issues. On Wednesday, I was able to help docs and testing hook up with backend to start the information gathering process so that doc and testing could start working on the change document for the login, paypal, and adding and uploading document in the members page. Currently doc and testing is waiting on backend to get more information on that, but backend is waiting on front-end so that they can place their items on the website.

Week 15

s5m32l3 — Fri, 12/05/2008 - 10:51

This week the class finally got a grasp on everything. On Monday I wasn't able to make it to class, because I couldn't make it back in time due to traffic and weather issues. Our team saw much progress throughout each team. This week I stuck mainly with the front-end and designer teams. The front-end learned how to code the information and place things properly, so, things are going well with them as of now. The designer team pretty much has everything done. They are still working on images and some graphics to put in the site.

Week 14 Blog

podarcze — Sun, 11/30/2008 - 17:38

This week was a very short week because we had no class on Wednesday and Friday, so there isn’t too much to talk about. I was working primarily with Ryan of the front end team to determine what we can do to get the web site done. He showed me what they were originally planning to do, and we work on determining how to create a website using CSS with the help of the back end team. We worked with the back end team to determine how create a web page using CSS, and we worked on determining who can do what in their group.

Week 14

s5m32l3 — Wed, 11/26/2008 - 16:19

This week we were only in class on Monday, so there wasn’t as much progress as the previous weeks. We first started off talking to the class to see where everyone is at on the project and if anyone needed any help. Again, each of us divided to our individual teams. I first went with the design team to figure out where they are. They are still working on the image selection for the site. Once they choose those they will crop them to get them ready to place in the site.
