Beware, I hunger. Er, I mean, it's around 100MB in size, and it's almost two hours long. Ha hah!

So, the audience for this is a community of gamers who are interested in homebrew, which is a program developed by an independent person (that is, outside of a professional company) for any gaming console. The podcast notifies the community on new homebrew and does miniature reviews of what's been released or is in development.

Arrangement: There is a short list of the homebrew projects on http://homebrewcast.net/?p=43 for example, and from there, they delve into the random.
Context: This assumes that people are interested in the new and coming homebrew and the reviews are directed towards the listener.
Medium: A simple sound-file using a group of people from far-away (this is all done online).
Strategies: They go through an actual list of homebrew, talk a little about them, and move on through the list and talk about whatever afterwards.
Purpose: New homebrew comes out quite a bit, and these people get together and talk about it.

Well, I guess my question is, for a podcast pulled together by several people who have never personally met, what other stuff could they talk about? Mind you, it is difficult for the average person (aka us) to get into this as it speaks directly to this community.

Homebrew Blog

I think this is a good use of podcasting as homebrew isn't advertised and some of it is very confusing. I think it would be better to shorten the episodes, 2 hours is such a long time. I wonder why they aren't talking about the Wibrew that is starting to appear as it is booming right now.

I'd have to agree with

I'd have to agree with PyroJing -- two hours is an extremely long time to be listening to one podcast. Although they do cover a lot of information, it does take forever it seems to get through the entire thing. To me, podcasts are something to put on your iPod and listen to on your way to work, or on your way to class -- they shouldn't be much longer than 30 - 45 minutes, max.

Yes, homebrew is a new trend and is taking off pretty quickly, and several of my friends that have the Wii have added the homebrew channel to theirs, I don't think it's something I'd do quite yet to my console until there are several options available, or an 'official' development community is released.

Reploids

I do agree with the two hours thing being so bloody long. I haven't listened to their other episodes, so I don't know how long they tend to run normally. And it personally seems like a "let's talk about stuff and record it for the hell of it!" kind of program. It could be more professional if they were to cut out most of the idle chatter, but I'm not a part of the podcast so I can't do much about that.

Your entire life has been a mathematical error. A mathematical error I'm ABOUT TO CORRECT.
