This podcast involves reviewing new and old music. The show structure involves reviewing the particular band and also discussing related current music news. During the podcast most of the songs that are being reviewed are played for the listeners benefit.
Halfway through the podcast there is an interview with the band The Howlies. The interview is very informal and somewhat funny at times.
The downside of this podcast is the length, forty-five minutes. However this is mainly due to the fact that they are playing full length songs during the podcast. I feel though that even with the length that this podcast is quite informative and interesting for someone interested in learning about bands they have never heard of.
Do you think that this two interviewers get off on tangents too easily and should stick to a more strict structured podcast? Or do the tangents add character and humor to the podcast?
I like how the interviewers
Roachel — Mon, 09/29/2008 - 00:19I like how the interviewers go off on tangents because it makes the podcast much more interesting to listen to. I also think that the way they go off on tangents benefits the audience because the reason they are listening is to learn more about music, and all the tangents that the interviewers go off on have to do with some sort of topic about music. In that sense, the listener can get updated on current music news along with the main topic the interviewers are covering.
I also like that this podcast plays some songs throughout the interview. It gives you a feel for the artist they are talking about and makes you want to listen to the rest of the podcast in order to hear more new songs.
Response
LazerJ1 — Mon, 09/29/2008 - 09:32I agree that that the tangents make for some interesting and funny discussions. Like I said originally I think this gives the podcast character.
I also agree with playing through the songs during the interview. This makes the interviewers job easier as they can directly critique the music. This allows them to better explain why they picked the music.
