This strategy creates a more laid back feeling to the pod cast and helps keep the conversation flowing.

Do you think that the hosts of this show small talk a little too much before getting to the main topic?
Getting Back to Basics
lefty150 — Wed, 10/01/2008 - 18:11I feel that most of the small talk that they are talking about relates to their topic on exercise and working out. The conversations that happen in this podcast allows for the audience to gather information from a different perspective. I feel that overall, they had good points that they covered. .
I agree
Roachel — Thu, 10/02/2008 - 21:00I agree with you that all the small talk they have does relate to the topic of exercise and working out. I like how this podcast has these two people just talking to eachother about the topic because I think it makes the pod cast seem very personable as they talk briefly about their own experiences.
Here is another question I have: Do you think that the hosts were able to give enough tips about exercise in this time frame in order for the listener to actually feel like they learned something. Or do you think they should have a longer show to present the material?
I think that they did well
lefty150 — Thu, 10/02/2008 - 21:22I think that they did well with the tips that they supplied. Exercise is such a broad topic and a person could speak hours on different tips. I feel that they highlighted the tips that would benefit the average everyday person. In their own personal experiences, they add other tips that the average person might not think of, but it would be easy for the person to try. I also feel that if they supply too many tips and extend the podcast’s time, the person will be overwhelmed with which tips they should try. The shorter time allows the person to try some of these tips to see if they are beneficial for this person.

LazerJ1 — Thu, 10/02/2008 - 23:26First thing I noticed is the quality of the podcast. The audio quality is clear and easy to understand. Using a small time frame on a podcast allows the user to not become bored or alienated from the material being presented. Although, I do agree with having an introduction to structure the beginning of a podcast, having too long of an intro will turn some listeners away from the podcast.

podarcze — Fri, 10/03/2008 - 01:31I really enjoyed this podcast. I thought regardless of who you are, it is a relevant topic. I think that they didn't really spend too much time with small talk. They talk making it conversational and then it draws the audience in. I enjoy how they just talk about semi-relevant topics. They don't go too far off topic in order for you to lose attention. They are still on topic enough to keep you entertained.
