Purpose – This podcast gives John Mayer fans and potential Mayer concertgoers a feel for the happenings of one of his concerts.

Audience – John Mayer fans are targeted by this podcast, especially those who want to attend/have attended his live show.

Context – This podcast is located on the “Concert Blast” website, a site dedicated to podcasting about live concert experiences.

Medium – This podcast is an audio.mp3 file that can be played on the internet or downloaded to your desktop.

Strategies – The producers take the listener through audience interviews, live and recorded audio commentary, and live music from the event in order to bring the experience full circle.

Arrangement – This piece starts with some live music samples from a John Mayer concert, goes through a few fan and commentator interviews, and then traverses into the live concert. The cycle repeats a few times and studio recordings from some of John Mayer’s CDs filled the dead space.

I know how much I love to go to live concerts, but would this review format make or break your decision to potentially attend a live concert?

I'm a fan of live concerts and I think this would promote the energy that happens at concerts.

There were certainly some interesting interviews. What do you think about the length of the podcast? Forty minutes is a little long, could it have been condensed and still be effective?
