Summary:

For this assignment, groups of no more than three students will each produce a promotional brochure for the UNCW Division of Public Service & Continuing Studies under the guidance of a client contact from that organization. The purpose of these brochures is to encourage youngsters to participate in the division's Summer FUNdamentals Camps. Client feedback about the groups' materials will have a direct impact on their grades.

The brochures students produce have multiple audiences. Children are the primary audience, but their parents constitute an important secondary audience as advisors. There are also several tertiary audiences, such as school principals, as well as the client, who is the main gatekeeping audience. Groups will turn in their brochures by providing .pdf versions and master files.

During the course of this project, students will practice working collaboratively to produce professional materials for an authentic client. In so doing, students will demonstrate their understanding of audience awareness, research, ethos, professionalism, and document design.

If the client is unable to provide project feedback within an appropriate timeframe, the instructor will make all project grading decisions. The instructor retains final authority over all project and course grading issues.
