This is a position for a campus consultant for Sports Illustrated. The responsibilities of this position are to promote Sports Illustrated on campus and to communicate information back to the different departments at Sports Illustrated. The main duties are to work with a team to come up with a marketing strategy for the magazine, to provide information about the different media and groups, to provide feedback on student's response to the magazine, help with Sports Illustrated events, participate in panel discussions, and distribute information and material to other students.

I chose this position because I think it seems very interesting and it relates to the management field that I am studying. I would like to maybe work with sports and management when I graduate so this seems like a great opportunity to get started. I want to be able to learn the different strategies that these sort of companies use to promote their product and how they handle the business aspects. In this position I would also be able to come up with my own promotional strategies to help market this magazine. I would also be working in a team and communicating with other people on a daily basis. I am interested in helping plan events and to see what all goes into planning these sort of events.

I believe that I am well qualified for this job because I am majoring in business management. I also am a student-athlete so I am around a lot of other athletes and sports. I bring a different point of view to the table then just the average student. Being an athlete and promoting a sports magazine will give me more influence on getting others interested in the magazine. I also love sports and have a strong interest so I know what is going on in the world of sports. I am also very enthusiastic about promoting sports and anything that is involved with them. I am very organized and like to plan events and ways to make everything work successfully.

Cool job

This is a very cool position, and you'd get to do it right here from Purdue. Positions like this give you a lot of time out in the field doing marketing as well, which would translate nicely to many other positions later on. I'm glad to see you've found something that can unite two of your mutual interests. The position also sounds flexible, which is nice. As with everyone, your key here will be making these skills concrete. What is this point of view that you bring to the table that is so different from the average student? How can you demonstrate it? What events do you like to organize, and how can you display success in this area? Start generating ways to make these skills and interests concrete for the reader.
