Job Ad Analysis-Marketing

The job I chose for my employment project is with Lincoln Educational Services for an Outside Sales Admissions Representative. For the job, I would be scheduling presentations with High School Counselors and Teachers to present the educational services that this company offers so that they will, in turn, generate the interest of students. Then the students will enlist the help of the company and that is how they make a profit.

I am interested in this job because although it would be a difficult sell that I would have to work hard towards, it would be direct hands on experience. I would have responsibilities in this job that would allow me to fine tune my sales skills even before I have my first real sales job. I feel like I would enjoy the challenge it presents before me.

I feel that I would be very qualified for this job. It does not require a degree and I am about to recieve one. I consider myself very computer savvy with excellent persuasive communication skills, which is exactly what the ad is asking for. I feel that I can relate well to students, which is important when they are your primary clients. In addition, I am very self motivated, and this is particularly important in a job like this because you tend to face a lot of rejection.

This sounds like an interesting job. I actually interviewed with a company similar to yours that did the same thing (ABG in Indianapolis) except they create learning materials and marketing for Agricultural companies. I interviewed for an internship but was not offered it at that time. It sounds like an exciting job making presentations. Although, I must say, presenting to high school students would be difficult. I admire your honesty and self motivation and realism about your job outlook. Too often especially in teaching or other fields, people have this idea of what their job will be like but when they start or begin it is completely different. That's why people quit and the turn over rate is so high. I think being realistic is important and asking detailed questions about the job is also important.
