Job Analysis

This position is for an internship acting as a management supplier with emphasis on procurement at Boeing in Anaheim/Huntington Beach, CA. Several responsibilities include working with internal and external suppliers and customers, participating in cross-functional teams, and evaluate performance data.

I chose this position because it fits right in with what my plan of study is. This opportunity would give me multiple chances to experience different things within the department. For instance, overseeing supplier related activities, becoming familiar with contract terms and conditions, and developing knowledge of project management tool are very similar to what I have learned in some of the classes I have taken. Even though I have gotten some experience in a few areas with my current internship, it does not offer some of the hands-on work that this Boeing internship presents.

I do believe I am very qualified for this position. The ad said the company is looking for a candidate with some knowledge of supply chain processes and it just so happened I took a course that was all about that. I also have great experience working with all of the computing skills they put down as competencies. Since one of my previous jobs required communicating with customers, I believe I learned a lot on how to converse with people, both in easy and difficult situations. Having very good time management skills and being dependable also make me a well qualified candidate. Since starting college, I had to organize tasks I needed to get done for a particular day and plan ahead a few days in advance. Dependability I think is truly one of the most important traits anyone can have. If I say I will get something done, then I will get the job done. If the task cannot be completed, then I will say the honest truth and not beat around the bush. All in all, I consider myself a valuable asset to any company simply because I will give it my all to satisfy the needs of the company to the best of my ability.

Boeing

This looks great - Boeing is a quality company. My father works at the Everett plant, and my former college roommate works at this Huntington Beach facility. I like your final paragraph summarizing your skills - it does seem like you're a great fit for the position. The key, of course, is quatifying all those skills you talked about here. Is there a specific way you can demonstrate in a cover letter that you are good at communication and organization. Any specific job experience you have demonstrating these characteristics will be the best bet on a resume, and even better on a cover letter. Start brainstorming ways to convey these skills concretely on your employment documents. This sounds like a great position.
