This job is an internship that is requesting students. They are looking for people to work parttime during the school year and full time during the summer. This job is one that will train the person to be effective in this company's sales program. The student will be supervised by a trained person and will most likely be representing them through their work.
I believe this is a good job for me for a number of reasons. The first is that they are not looking for anyone with past sales experience. This is me. Although I will have some experience dealing with customers by the end of the summer, currently I have not worked in sales. I am, however, very interested in sales because I know it is an extremly challenging field. Many people are sales reps, but few do it well. I think sales has a lot to do with psychology and that is why it interests me so much. The things I learn from my psych degree will help me succeed in sales.
Another reason why I feel this is a good job for me is that they train you in their specific sales strategy. To me, this means that they are expecting this intern to stay on the team after the internship is complete as an employee. It sounds like a lot of time would be spent training this intern and waisted if they were not kept around for a long time. I know that many internships turn into ful-time jobs. I would like to get involved in an internship that would have this kind of benefit, long term.

Nice job choice
This looks like a very good job you chose for this project. I think a similar type of job for me would also be beneficial. Like you I have had no previous sales experience and going into financial planning, being able to sell your products and yourself is a big aspect of the job. I also like how it is offered part time during the school year but full time during the summer. This way you can still go to school and learn more about sales at the same time and you can also work full time in the summer when you don't have school.
