Comment on Resume

1. What can the writer do to make the resume better tailored to the specific job being applied for?

You want a job in human resources but that isnt mentioned in related coursework

2. Is the layout and design pleasing to the eye? Make at least one suggestion for improving it.

Address could be centered

3. Does the resume fit comfortably within the page (as opposed to being squished in or stretched out)? What can the writer do to improve it?

It fits one page well

4. Is it easily readable (no confusing fonts, clearly marked sections)? What improvements can be made?

Is easy to read, might consider using something other than arrows.

5. Does it use typography (including headers and bold and italics) appropriately and effectively?

I think you could use bold and italics more, you have underlines used, i suggest using italics instead

6. Is the most important information located on the left side of the page and near the top whenever possible? Identify at least one part that could be better placed.

I think the related courses could be moved. To me they arent as important as work experience

7. Does the content of the resume support the objective (if there is one)? Explain.

I believe it helps to support the objective. She says in her jobs that she helped to use skills that would be good for HR

8. Is the resume too short? Where can it elaborate? Job skills? Responsibilities? Education?

The resume is not too short, looks to be about the right length.

9. Is material sequenced in order of importance and relevance?

Sort of, i still think that related courses could be lowered unless HR classes are placed here

10. Do bulleted items begin with action verbs? Are list items ordered in terms of importance?

They do all begin with action verbs.

11. Does the resume avoid generalities and focus on specific information and professional terminology?

The word utilize is used a lot of times.

12 Does the resume pass the Quadrant, Column, Squint, and Distance tests? Explain how the author might make improvements based on your test results.

This resume passes the test.

13 What other observations can you make about the resume?

Nice resume. I think it looks pretty good. There are a few suggestions I have though. Think about centering your address, since you only have one. Also, all your arrows aren’t lined up together. Look into fixing this. I am also slightly confused about your second work experience, was this the same position at 2 different stores?

Comments on Your Resume

You have a lot of experience that makes you a stong candidate for any job you are applying for. Some suggestions would be to adjust your objective statement and work experience skills to fit the company you are applying for. Although it appears that you had too much information to include, which detracts from the overall appearance of your resume. Try bringing the margins in a little bit, and reducing the size of your name on the top. This will reduce space and make it more appealing. Try to use different font sizes or italics to make the more important items stand out , currently everything blends together and the reader really has to search for what they are looking for. You did a good job of locating all the important on the lefthand side, however, I would move Related Coursework underneath Education instead of making it its own category. Other than that I think you did a good job of backing up your objective statement and showing how your were qualified. Some additional notes would be to make sure all your bullets are consistent and line up, that you use the same tone (for example under job skills you use utilize in some parts and utilized in others), and include your GPA.
