I guess it was very well established by the chapter how important the content in the Email is, and still the people take it so lightly. Till now i didn't know how to address different people in a proper and appropriate manner myself. I think this chapter provided enough information which i can use in the future in writing effective Emails. The ' Boss's angry email' was a perfect example of how reckless the people can be when it comes to Emailing without realizing that the consequenses may be harsh. It covered each and every point with great detail even the 'to', 'cc' and 'bcc' parts which generally the people aren't aware of. It also provided info on how to avoid the spam and the virus containing messages which generally flood everybody's inboxes.

I agree with you completely. The chapter showed that reading emails carefully before you send them is very important, yet a lot of people rarely do it. Hopefully after reading this chapter we will all realize that emails should be proofread just like a paper. The manager who sent that email should have thought ahead about what if this email gets out of the company and realized it was going to give negative publicity of him and his company.

I also liked how it showed what every part of an email does such as the 'cc' and 'bcc' parts. I didn't really know what they meant before and I never used them because I didn't want to mess something up with my email. Now after reading this chapter I will be able to use them and actually know what I'm doing. I think this chapter applies to everyone, not just people in business because everyone writes emails.

I'm in the same situation as you are. I know the basics of writing emails, but I don't know when to use and when to not use all the extra lines provided like the "cc" and "bcc" lines. I know it is not always necessary to use them, but when it is, it is a good thing to know when to use them. Also, it is important to know the appropriate greetings, salutations, and other context into writing emails. People try to make writing emails a science it seems, but it really shouldn't be that difficult, and an employer should never use the approach that the boss from the article used to address his employees.

It is also helpful to learn some of the tricks for reading email headings to know whether you are getting spam and/or viruses with your emails. It seems to be so much more popular with email being sent containing viruses. Its a shame anyone would get pleasure from doing this, but I guess that is just how some people are.

I agree with you that this chapter is very helpful with how important the content of the email is. It is very important to double check your emails before you send them out. I learned quite a bit form the chapter as well as u said it covers each and every little detail even explaining what "to","cc" and "bcc" parts are. learning about how to avoid the spam and virus containing messages which generally flood everyones in boxes was something very new to me because it has happened a couple of times to me. SO now after reading the chapter i learned how to avoid the spam and virus containing messages.
