13. What other observations can you make about the resume?
It was a good resume explaining about what you want, who you are, what strength you have.
Your layout seems very attractive. it is very well spaced and very well written. i really like the way you have highlighted the different sections to show the difference. I feel you should use Bold and Italics in your work skill section to make your resume look even more attractive. I think your work experience can be elaborated a little more efficiently but i think over all you have done a good job.
What can the writer do to make the resume better tailored to the specific job being applied for?
The only thing that I could think of is that some people would like to see a stronger statement about where you are going then just saying to “learn more.”
Is the layout and design pleasing to the eye? Make at least one suggestion for improving it.
Yes. I bet you like the darkened headings, but they don’t really do much for me. I would take them out. Consider using a different font to make them standout.
Does the resume fit comfortably within the page (as opposed to being squished in or stretched out)? What can the writer do to improve it?
You have enough space at the bottom that you could add some information and it still wouldn’t look crowded.
Is it easily readable (no confusing fonts, clearly marked sections)? What improvements can be made?
It is very clear. The only suggestion that I would have is that the bullets are not really needed in the “activates and honors” section.
Does it use typography (including headers and bold and italics) appropriately and effectively?
Very clear and easy to read. You could think about using different fonts, but I don’t think you have lost anything because you haven’t done that.
Is the most important information located on the left side of the page and near the top whenever possible? Identify at least one part that could be better placed.
I think so. I think it is interesting that you don’t have a space between “education” and “skills.” I’d put one in just to separate the two headings.
Does the content of the resume support the objective (if there is one)? Explain.
I think you did a good job connection the objective with the skills and experiences that you have had.
Is the resume too short? Where can it elaborate? Job skills? Responsibilities? Education?
It could be lengthened, but it doesn’t need to be. If you made the margins a little bigger on the sides it would look like you filled the page better.
Is material sequenced in order of importance and relevance?
I think so. Very nice.
Do bulleted items begin with action verbs? Are list items ordered in terms of importance?
I think you could really improve the action verbs. “Dealt” is very vague. Try something that really describes what you were doing without having to read the whole sentence.
Does the resume avoid generalities and focus on specific information and professional terminology?
I think so. You could try and find a few better verbs that would more strongly represent what you did in each job, but that would be my only suggestion.
Does the resume pass the Quadrant, Column, Squint, and Distance tests? Explain how the author might make improvements based on your test results.
The only thing about that would be to try and use the bottom part of the paper better. Especially the bottom left. I know it’s hard to fill, but right not it is really blank.
