Resume Response

1. What can the writer do to make the resume better tailored to the specific job being applied for?

First off I would I would like to note I think this is a very strong and well written resume. The only thing I can really say about this question is in your objective. I can see what you are looking for, but I think you could use push a little more for what you would like to do for the company.

2. Is the layout and design pleasing to the eye? Make at least one suggestion for improving it.

I think your design is very pleasing to the eye. I did notice in your projects section there are not spaces in between the projects. This caused me to notice a little bit of crowding.

3. Does the resume fit comfortably within the page (as opposed to being squished in or stretched out)? What can the writer do to improve it?

The resume fits nicely inside the margins. When I look at the paper, the first thing I notice is how much is fit into it and that there is a slight crowding.

4. Is it easily readable (no confusing fonts, clearly marked sections)? What improvements can be made?

Yes. I think everything is very clear and very straight forward. I really like your font and as long as you have made sure it is almost always installed on all computers I would say stick with it.

5. Does it use typography (including headers and bold and italics) appropriately and effectively?

Yes, I think this the typography was used effectively.

6. Is the most important information located on the left side of the page and near the top whenever possible? Identify at least one part that could be better placed.

I think everything looks pretty well placed. I did get caught on your experience where is says Purdue University… It almost seems you should have a space there.

7. Does the content of the resume support the objective (if there is one)? Explain.

Yes, the content supports the objective. You purposely point out which classes you were a tutor in. Seeing that these were all accounting or management, you were supporting your objective.

8. Is the resume too short? Where can it elaborate? Job skills? Responsibilities? Education?

No, I would say you have the resume about as filled as you can get it without looking really packed.

9. Is material sequenced in order of importance and relevance?

Yes, it follows a good format.

10. Do bulleted items begin with action verbs? Are list items ordered in terms of importance?
Bulleted items began with action verbs, but it seems like there is always room for improvement with this.

Yes, your items are ordered in terms of importance.

11. Does the resume avoid generalities and focus on specific information and professional terminology?

Everything seemed to be relevant and specific.

12. Does the resume pass the Quadrant, Column, Squint, and Distance tests? Explain how the author might make improvements based on your test results.

I believe it passes these tests. The only think I can note is by just a glance it looks slightly overfilled.

13. What other observations can you make about the resume?

I think this was a great resume. I did notice on the copy I am viewing, your email address is still in hyperlink form. I believe you should change that to just font.
