I think your press release shows how sorry Jet Blue is for the inconveniences they caused. I feel you may want to make it a little more concise and cut back on the excuses for the situation. A few sentences on what happened is good, but I think focusing more on how Jet Blue is addressing the problem will be more effective. Also you may want to add the contact information at the end or pepper it throughout the release. This was mentioned in the Ten Tips for Press Release attachment. One more very minor detail is the date at the top does not reflect what is in your release. You said in your second paragraphs that it took six days to put the pieces together, but your date is the second day of the crisis. Overall, I thought the tone of the press release is professional.
I think you did a good job with your press release. You provided the reader with what had happened, and what corrective actions were being done now to prevent this from happening again. You mentioned this by stating the code of ethics, but you could provide more detail in other manors. You should also consider telling the reader how to contact you at the bottom. Your layout looks good and follows how I believe a standard press release should look. As said in the previous comment you may want to adjust the dates. This isn’t something that would happen in the real world, but this is confusing now.
