This brochure is for Century 21. It is discussing the possibility fo earing Air Miles, which are similar to frequest flyer miles, through Century 21. This brochure is of a trifold design which creates three columns on each side of the paper.
After reading chaper 25, realized that so much more goes into designing a brochure then just picking out colors and pictures. It is important for the brochure to be easy to read and have relevant information in it. This relates back to our discussion about concise writing. There isn't room in a brochure to be wordy. It is also important for the pictures to relate to the words. Century 21 does a good job at this becasue the pictures they chose show couples and families on vacation, which is the result of earning Air Miles. The pictures are also good becasue they appeal to our emotions. We see the family having fun and we relate to the good times they are having.
Another thing that was metioned in the book is the importance of color. This brochure uses analogous colors throughout. The Blue from the sky in the pictures is also seen in the background color on the second page. I like the use of the different blue shades with the contrasting Century 21 logo.
I will take away from this brochure a number of things to help me make my brochure for class. The most important thing about this brochure is the layout. The layout is one of the most important things when it comes to capturing peoples attention. I like how the pictures are over laping each other and I like how much of the information is separated into colored boxes. This helps to make it stand out and I think it is also very visually appealing. The color scheme, although effective in this case, I don't think i will use in our brochure. I say this because the logo for the Community & Family Resource Center does not have bright colors. i would not continue the pastel colors in the logo throughout the brochure. I don't think it would stand out as much as we hope it would.

Brochure analysis
This is a good brochure to help you when you design your brochure. The colors on the front and the gray shaded boxes used throughout are good as they are analogous colors which help with a good eye catching brochure. There is good repetition on the second page with the multiple gray boxes with the title of each section within that box. The fonts throughout the brochure are on par with what the book suggests on where to use serif fonts versus where to use sanserif fonts. The colors they use for fonts are also similar to those within the logo of Century 21 which makes it a good look. Good brochure to use for a model.

I was also surprised at the amount of information found in Chapter 25. I have made brochures in the past but did not put too much thought into them. I will definitely be using the information from the chapter to create a better brochure. I agree that the idea of concise writing will be important. It makes the information easier to read. Being concise will also free up room in the brochure and allow you to experiment with alignment and pictures. Color will also be important; it will help contrast and focus attention on the important information. The brochure you have found includes all the ideas from Chapter 25. This will act as a great example as you create your project.
Brochure Comment
I think you picked a great example of a tri-fold brochure. I really liked how you pointed out the way they continued to use the same picture idea in the first and second pages and how this appeals to a person’s family ethos. I also think the author did a good job of staying in a good color scheme by keeping the text boxes blue. One think I really liked about this brochure that stood out was the on the inside two pages. I liked how they have a blue background go from the first to the second page. I think it effectively separates the second pages upper and lower portions.

I think the brochure you picked is going to be very beneficial. It uses a lot of the design elements listed in chapter 25 of the textbook. I like that you pointed out the importance of the brochure being easy to read and having relevant information. Since we won't have a lot of room to work with, it will be very important to keep our information short and to the point. I also liked that you pointed out the importance of color. After having looked at a few other brochures that our classmates picked out, I notice the colors more than I had before. I think it will be important to make sure the colors we choose complement each other and the logo.
