I liked this brochure that I found online because it caught my eye right away and it seemed well layed out. The contrast throughout the document, especially on the first page, adds a lot of visual interest and draws the reader's attention to specific places. The alignment of words and information on each page establishes a pattern so that it is easy to read and shows consistency. There are also parts as in the first page that is misaligned and this attracts attention to the brochure. Repetition is used with the colors and heading to identify sections of the document. Different font sizes, colors, and typefaces are used to draw your attention to the more important information and to split up the information so that sections are easy to identify. Line length and justification varies throughout the document but all of the text is easy to read and the different lengths actually make the brochure look more interesting. The colors are used effectively and none of them seem to clash.
I will use this brochure as an example for when our group is making our documents. It gives me ideas on how to come up with a creative layout and how to use contrast and alignment to catch the reader's eye. The way that they use the different font sizes, colors, and typefaces shows ways that we can incorporate different ones and still make it look well organized and like it all flows together. I think using this document as an example can influence the documents we have to make in a lot of ways and give us good ideas for our own.

The first page of the brochure was very eye-catching. I liked that the brochure says "Reaching New Heights" and there is a picture of the mountains in the background. The brochure uses proximity to relate the mountains to the headline of the brochure. I also like that the brochure was creative with their font by capitalizing the whole word "heights" and putting "reaching new" in lower case letters as well as under heights to show that they are really "Reaching New Heights". I also like the repetition of the pictures on the side of the brochure and the use of the mountains picture as a background. Not every page includes pictures on the side or the mountains as a background but it shows the reader what to expect at the MontBleu Hotel in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The brochure also uses repetition with the small mountain icon next to Exhibitors and Sponsors. I like the color scheme but sometimes it blends in with the other pictures instead of contrasting and standing out. If I was making this brochure, I would also add pictures that related more to the text or make sure there were pictures on each page. On a couple of the pages, there is only text and it seems overwhelming. Readers would probably skip over some of the text or would rather to see pictures. I really liked the design of this brochure though and the creative ideas that the brochure has.

The brochure you chose is very informative. It gives tons of information with lots of detail. I really like the organization and the textual choices that were made to show what is important and what goes together. The front cover is eye catching and a really interesting picture. I also noted the different text sizes and the slight variations from page to page, but I think it worked and it all still look very organized. I also agree that this would be a great reference/example for our group to use when making our own document for the project. Great Choice!

I think you chose a good example of a effective brochure. It gives lots of details, which would help answer any questions without having to contact the company. I really liked how the brochure changed the color of the text for the first sentence of their paragraphs. This strategy was just as effective as using bullet points. We may want to consider this for our brochure, so that it is different from the others. I think you make a good point about the brochure's use of misalignment. With all the text aligned in a uniform way, the parts of the first page that were misaligned definitely stood out. This technique may be something to consider for our brochure.

I agree that this brochure did a good job of pointing out the most important information and making it known. The alignment also helped in making the information stand out. The brochure was very detailed and helps in making the consumers very informed. The whole brochure uses a lot of little things to make the brochure useful and tactful so it is easy.
