The brochure I found was for a company called NSAI, who consult companies on creating fuel. I thought this brochure it was very appealing when I looked at it for the first time. I found many examples of the book’s principles of graphic design within it. First, the text in the brochure uses alignment to convey meaning. On the fourth page, NSAI uses bulleting to describe the scope of their work. Beneath that, lists of countries are left aligned to save room while keeping a clear format. Also, on the front page, NSAI uses proximity with the words Coalbed Methane while displaying a picture of coal right beneath it. The words being close to the picture automatically created a relationship between the two. Repetition can be found on the second page through the words NSAI being displayed 4 times. This was a great idea as repetition creates a meaningful connection between the reader and the company name on this page. This brochure is also consistent with a blue line running across the bottom of the page. This consistency ties in all pages of the document.
As for the page layout, this brochure does a great job of using bold and italics when needed. The margins stay the same within all the pages and the font never changes. It appears to me that they used 10, 11, or 12 font as well when giving information over the company. The book tells us that analogous colors work well together and that is exactly what is used in this brochure. These colors can be seen in the pictures which creates a sharp contrast among the white space.
This document will influence my design because it looks very professional. I think it does a great job of giving information yet being clear and not over bearing. The front page looks clean and well organized. Also, the pictures are crisp and clear and I think that this influences the overall look of the brochure. Another element I like about this document was the white border behind the picture on the front page. I think this is something our group should consider when trying to create a professional look. One last thing I will keep in mind is the color scheme. Although that is not something you would originally think mattered, it sets the tone for the entire brochure.

This is a very interesting brochure; it really captures the reader’s attention with really beautiful pictures. The few opening pages have really great pictures of landscapes that capture the audience. The colors that are used are all natural tones that go along with the environment and nature really well. That is really a neat feature to this brochure. The only design feature that I thought could be improved was the font size was a bit too small. I agree with you this brochure does look very professional and displays the information well. Overall, I really like this brochure and would like to use some of these design features in my group’s brochure, but I think the information may be too overwhelming for our topic.
