After searching the internet for brochures, I found one I liked at http://www.uccwireless.com/Radio%20brochure%20back.jpg. The brochure is for Motorola and its options for business communication. I really like how the information jumps off the page at you. Many of the elements from Chapter 25 can be found in this brochure.
For example, the brochure follows the idea of proximity. One panel contains all the contact information. All the necessary numbers can be found in one place. It even has a spot for local contact numbers to be placed. Another panel contains all accessories and pieces that you need for a successful business communication system. Yet another panel contains information on the different types of add-ons that allow you to customize your system. The information is grouped very effectively. Motorola’s brochure definitely uses proximity.
The brochure is also aligned. It is aligned to the left for a more professional look since it is about a business product. One panel contains a chart that is neatly aligned. This makes it easier to read about all the different products.
Motorola’s brochure also utilizes repetition. Similar pictures are shown across the different panels. The Motorola logo also appears more than once to make sure customers know the brand.
The brochure shows a lot of contrast. The brochure is in color. The titles on each panel are in different colors to help grab attention. Color is also the background for some pictures. This draws the eyes to the pictures, resulting in one reading the important information.
This brochure can definitely help in our service learning project. All the important aspects found in Chapter 25 can be seen in this brochure. We want to grab reader’s attention. We can use this brochure as an example on how to effectively do so. We will also have to use proximity. For the general brochure we have to include contact information. The readers will have a much easier time if all the contact information is in the right place. We can use alignment to help our document appear professional. We can also use alignment to make information easier to read. Finally, we will use contrast to help important information jump at the reader. The information found in Chapter 25 is very useful and will definitely be utilized for this project.

Having a close up of the product allows for the reader to understand more about it. Contrast is present on the front page because the product is a dark color and the background is a light color. They play off of each other which is an important element of any brochure. The features list is probably the most vital piece of information out of the entire thing simply because it tells the potential buyer how their product works. The only negative thing that comes to mind when looking at this is the fact that the font is rather small. Perhaps they could leave out the less important content to make it bigger and easier to read.

Good choice of brochures. The first thing that jumped out at me was the nice color. Motorola did a great job using different colors in each section. To me this just makes each section stand out. They also have done a great job making this brochure realistic. The brochure that I chose was very long and I most certainly could not imitate it for the service learning project. The Motorola brochure could be used as a guide for the project though. The reason I say this is because it is contained on page and is broken down into four columns already. I would continue to look at this brochure and other ones like it as you begin this final project.

The brochure selection was good. According to me something similar like this would be great for the General Information brochure. I feel like this because that brochure needs to neat and concise at the same time very informative and attractive. I like this idea because it follows proximity very well and the way it is made it is very reader friendly .i.e. it’s not difficult to follow. Having a color scheme like this can help a lot, all that we need is great Images and at the same time great color to look vibrant. What are your thoughts about it ?

I think that a simple yet effective color scheme is a great idea. We don't want to bombard the reader with obnoxious colors so finding a great scheme would really help. Pictures can help us also by adding to our message. The pictures can also help us determine which colors to use for the brochure.

I also agree that this brochure used the concept of proximity. The different "faces" of the brochure contain different information, all which is well distributed throughout it. What I like the most about it is the different colors and use of contrat the brochure contains. It gives the brochure uniqueness, and also highlights the most important parts (like titles and pictures which represent the given information). The brochure is kept simple, has a lot of images that omits a lot of words, and uses alignment very well when giving the specifics of the different cel phones. What I also like about this brochure is that at the bottom left part it has a box which is for the dealer in a specific area. This was a good idea since the company does not have to make several brochures for its distributors. Another thing I would like to highlight is the use of different sizes of text, which diferentiate the given information. Good job on finding this brochure.

I like how your brochure is organized. I think it is well organized and used simple colors to catch reader’s attention. It definitely follows proximity described in our book. I liked how they divided panels into groups following proximity yet providing useful information. I agree that brochure is also aligned. It looks professional that they aligned to the left using the left spaces efficiently. What I like the most was how they used colors of sky blue, yellow and light purple repeating yet looking very consistent. The colored parts highlight each important main point and pictures making the whole brochure look professional and neat.
