After reading chapter 25, I found the information to be very helpful. The information is very detailed and designed to help set the brochure up step by step. The chapter helped to explain what was necessary for the brochure to be efficient to all readers. The chapter gave wonderful examples also, which were helpful. I did research and looked through many examples of brochures online. I found a lot I liked, but many were very cluttered. The brochure I hope to make with my other group members will hopefully be very organized.
After much research and looking through examples, I came across one that was very well organized and utilized the material in a great way. The example I chose is: http://www.un.org/secureworld/brochure.pdf. I chose this example because it really caught my eye. I found a lot of useful techniques that I hope can be helpful to me and my group members when we are creating out brochure. Much of the brocure is very clean and organized. The brochure also keeps the same information gatherd in the same areas, to help in organizing. I am excited to get started on the group brochure.

This brochure has a lot of useful information and is very professional. There is very good alignment throughout the entire brochure but I think it needs more of the other elements that make up a good brochure. There aren't enough pictures to help you explain what it is talking about. The only contrast I can find is the front cover because everything else is just blue font on a white page which does contrast but I feel like there could be a lot more. However since you are creating the content for our brochure I think this was still a good brochure for you to pick. There were some good examples of bullet points and some different texts in headers. I think if you took some ideas from this brochure it will help you create a more professional brochure for our group.

I found the cover very appealing because the white font over the dark font allowed for easy reading and was one of the first thing I saw. I think we should do something along these lines to make our project look very professional. The fact that the United Nations made up this brochure, the image of Earth represented who they are made up of. As far as the rest of the ad, I think there is too much information and not enough pictures. All of the details and specifics they talked about took away some effects from the brochure as a whole.
Eventhough technically this
Eventhough technically this is a brochure we got to recognize that it is an executive summary and therefore it has a lot of writting and little pictures. I do think it was a good brochure, yest in a way I think that it could have more pictures, but it meets its purpose.

I also agree that chapter 25 was very beneficial and it had a lot of good information will help us in designing a brochure and other documents. In the brochure that you picked they used proximity well on the second and third page to break things up so they were easier to read. The colors that they used at the beginning were good to catch the attention of the reader. I liked the bulleted lists because it helped break up the points being made. I thought that on the last couple pages that there was almost too much writing and for our case in this project I think it is important that the text is short and to the point so that it is easier to read. When something looks too long many people just skip over it.
Brochure Ananlysis
The cover to this brochure is very good for an eye catching brochure. The United Nations created it and using the world as a cover is a good tie in. The document is ok but it could use more contrast and less white space. The alignment is probably something we want to shy away from as it is fully aligned and creates some large spacing between words. It looks more uniform down the page but the white space detracts from the overall appeal. The larger fonts used for each paragraph is good as the Thomson Handbook suggests but it isnt in a different font that the paragraph is in which is suggested in the book.
RE: Reading Response 5
I think this was an interesting choice of a brochure. While the cover was very eye catching with its bold color usage and contrasting text, there was nothing but words on the rest of the pages. Many people do not like to have to read page after page on an issue, and the usage of pictures gives the reader a break from the monotony of the written word. I think the content in the brochure was very good and informative but I would not use this brochure as a positive example for this project. I think for this project, groups will benefit from using focused ideas and points instead of the entire unabridged version of the information. Readers look at brochures for quick, to-the-point information that they can have at hand if necessary and I do not think that this particular brochure accomplished that. I think you and your group members have good ideas, however, and you will successful in this project.

The first page of this brochure caught my eye because of the background image and contrasting text on top of the image. However, I thought the following pages were boring and plain. While I agree that the brochure as a whole was very professional-looking, clean, and organized, I think it needed a little something else to make it interesting. There were no pictures and very little color on the pages after the first. I think the person who created the brochure did a great job on the front page, but could have added something more to the others to make the reader want to continue reading.
