5:00 Appeal to Emotions: +
I think that the people who read our brochures will be able to connect with them. The images that we used play a large role in creating this appeal to the emotions of our readers. The text is focused on the reader and allows them to understand each section of the brochure well.
4:00 Be Professional: +
I think that we have achieved professionally designed brochures. We used quality images (with the exception of one that may have been slightly distorted) and the look of each brochure is attractive. The color schemes work well and do not interfere with the audience’s ability to read the material.
3:40 Be Personal: +
The brochures are focused on the reader. They are written in a way that anyone should be able to understand. This will help to gain the trust of the audience and hopefully lead to the adoption of one of the animals or a donation of supplies.
3:00 Achieve Readability: +
Originally, one of our group members had posted this as a .jpeg image, because he was having a problem creating a .pdf file. Once viewed as a .pdf file, it was clearly readable.
2:30 Speak the Language: +
Again, the brochures are simple and easy to read. There are no terms that are specific to this area that could exclude a reader from understanding what is meant. Because of this, the brochure works well.
2.00 Lead With Benefits: +
The goal of the brochures is focused on adopting a pet or donating supplies (General Information Brochure) or taking care of your pets (Caring For Your Pets Brochure). All the information contained in these brochures is relevant to its goal. There is no excess information provided that could confuse the reader.
1:20 Have a Single Message: +
At first, it was tempting to cram in as much information as possible. However, after creating and revising a couple of drafts, I feel that all the excess information has been weeded out. The documents now only contain the information that is relevant to them.
0:50 Focus on a Single Product or Service: +
Each brochure is focused on a single objective. I think the reason we are required to make two brochures is because the Humane Society has a couple of major goals that it would like to accomplish. Putting all this information in a single brochure would be overbearing. Because we have one brochure for each goal, it focuses the reader’s attention on one “product.”
0:20 Make an Action Call: +
Each brochure urges the reader to take action. Whether it be donating money or supplies, volunteering, adopting a pet, or taking care of animals, the audience will be well aware that they are needed after reading each brochure.

I agree that our brochures
I agree that our brochures pass all the tests for an effective bochure but reading the test made me analyze the brochures in a different way and made me realize a lot of areas which we can make a lot better with minimal additional work. Even according to the feedbacks we have received, the brochure fit in fairly well to the 5 minute test objectives. However there are issues with visuals and layout that we need to address. I shall get in touch with you shortly and give you detailed feedback on the general information brochure and help out in whatever way I can and I expect the same for the caring for your pet brochure from your side.
