I do think the brochure design I came up with does have an emotional affect on prospects. The affect of the front cover picture does play a key role in persuading people to come by the shelter. Just the look of the dog can be very poignant especially to those who are die hard dog lovers.
4:00 Be Professional: +
The design of the general brochure is definitely professional. I tried to coordinate primary colors that were not too childish, yet were not too formal. I stayed away from clip art because I think it would have downgraded the quality of the brochure, thus lowering our credibility. In some cases it does work out, but in this case it does not.

I do believe the content was very informative to potential prospects. Breaking the brochure up into three sections helped us explain who are, what we do, and how others can get involved.

I feel as though we can come up with a better format for the bullet points. It does not come off to me as very affective or readable for our marketing piece.

There is hardly any technical language simply because there is nothing technical about our brochure. Just by looking at the cover, Clinton County Humane Society, one can get a sense of what we are about.

Within our mission statement we stated the benefits people gain from both sides of the spectrum. We explained to the public, no matter what their circumstances are, all of the animals that come here and leave are well taken care of.

The main points we needed to get across were communicated effectively and left no room for unnecessary information which is very important when advertising a brochure to anyone.

It is kind of hard to focus on one product or service when there is so much that the Clinton County Humane Society offers. It is ironic in a sense because nothing but good comes out of all the services that are offered and narrowing these down to a couple seems a bit odd.

We definitely gave plenty of contact information, including directions from major highways, a website, the address, email for 24 hour inquiries, and hours of operation.

I think you hit pretty much all of the points spot on in your analysis of your brochure. I agree with your points on the professionalism and how clip art would have brought down the professional level of the brochure. I think both of our brochures will have an unfair minus for the "focus on product or service" section because our brochure is dealing with the human society and not a product or company we are trying to sell. Overall I would agree with pretty much all or your scores and I think your brochure is very good.

I agree with the scores you got for our brochures. I think both of our brochures fit most of the categories in which they asked for. I think due to the content of our brochures some areas were hard to meet. Other than that I think our group did a great job, and I am excited to make changes this week to meet perfection.

I pretty much agreed with how you scored our brochure. It was a professional brochure with great appeal to emotion. The dog on the front along with the other puppies and cats appeal to the softer side of those who would adopt a pet. The personal aspect was also obtained with these pictures. The readability is an area where I disagree with you. The article described bullet points and using boxes to separate sections and I thought we did a good job making it easy on the reader to read the brochure. Also it seems hard to show benefits to the reader for adopting a pet in this brochure. It didnt seem to fit as something the humane society wanted to see in this brochure. Our single message was well achieved with the Because We Care slogan of the front panel. The call to action was also easy with the contact info and other info posted easily. Overall I think this was a good brochure.
