Appeal to emotions (+)
I think that our brochure does appeal to the audiences emotions. We used Christmas colors to get our audiences in the mood of Christmas. The pictures we used really showed emotion, such as being happy. Most of the Christmas Parties that are held the goal is to be happy.
Be Professional (-)
I think our brochure was not made that professionally. The programs that we used such as Microsoft Publisher ddidnt really give it a professional look. I think if we used some other program such us adobe Photoshop we could have done a better job. On the other hand the pictures we used were not that good, which was a downside for the brochures look.
Be Personal(+)
We were Personal in our brochure by just trying to get a lot of people involved in the Christmas dinner party. I think that asking people to join and getting involved in the community and helping the organization was very personal.
Achieve Readability(+)
Our brochure did get a positive on the achieved readability part. Since it is made up of bullet points, big font sizes, pictures etc
Speak the language (+)
Our brochure defiantly spoke the language of the audience it is very simple language and it is not at all hard to read or understand.
Lead with Benefits (-)
This is another category of the trash test that our group has to work on. We have no benefits of volunteering in the brochure.
Have a Single Message (+)
The single message that we had said throughout our brochure is that we need volunteers.
Focus on a Product or Service(+)
It also has a focus on products or service which is volunteers needed.
Make an Action Call(-)
I think to improve our brochure a little bit we need to make a clear action call.
After taking the 5 min brochure Trash test. Our brochure received 6 positives and 3 negatives. I think the test really helped us on the small things that we need to improve on our brochure before we turn in the final one.

Suchet, we both thought the same things about our brochure. It truly shows in what areas our brochure needs work because we feel that the same categories are negative! First of all I agree our brochure isn't too professional and as a group we need to think of ways to make it more professional. The main problem is that we don't have much to work with such as using Microsoft Publisher and the pictures that were given to us to use were very low quality and it does bring down the professional aspect of our brochure. So therefore we have to come up with way to make our brochure more professional before the final draft. Also we have to add a section to our brochure that talks about the benefits of volunteering. The last negative that we had about our brochure is making a call to action; we didn't have a direct call to action in our brochure. After we make these few changes to our brochure I really think it will be great!
group comment
Suchet, after looking at your comments we felt almost the same about our brochure. After reading the previous comment by Rachel, it seems that we all feel the same way. We all noticed that our brochure could be more professional. Even though Publisher is not very much help with this project, I think we could get some better pictures. We could stand to add to the benefits section about volunteering. I agree with you that there needs to a call of action in which now we are lacking. I feel that if our group makes a significant effort to fix our brochure we will be just fine.
