I think our bochure appeals to the emotion of the people. A lot of people adopt a pet when they feel lonely. We have used the pictures showing happy owners playing with their pets. Other than that we have also used a line saying, "Who wants a cat that hides under the bed when your children try to pet her?" I think a lot of people will be able to relate to this.

All the pictures used in the brochure are of high quality. The colors used are light ad simple.

The pictures used, are of the owners playing with their pets. I think that most of the people who think of adopting a pet feel lonely.
Achieve Readability (+)
The brochure is easily readable. The bullets have been used appropriately and helps the reader to locate the information or scan through the brochure easily and quickly. In the places where bullets aren't used, proper heading with good font size have been provided. This really helps the main points to stand out.

We have used the general language that everybody speaks and understand by avoiding big and heavy words.

The brochures have the perfect amount of information and also portrays a single message making the it easier for the reader to get the message without even have to read the whole brochure word by word.

We have appealed to a single message avoiding to use the vast information which confuses the reader, as to what the brochure is trying to convey.

We have focused on convincing the people to adopt a pet from the shelter by telling them how the pet can change their life and also how healthy a pet from shelter is, compared to a pet bought from a shop.

The brochure is appealing enough for the people to take an immidiate action. I think after reading the brochure it all appears very simple for the reader who had been thinking of buying pet for a long time. Now he knows where its available and various other facts that earlier he had to research.

I scored our brochure the same way you did, every category received a plus. I feel that our brochure does a good job relating to anyone who picks it up to read. It is easily understandable and the images go a long way to drawing out an emotional response from the audience. From most of the feedback we have received, it seems that others agree that our brochures have these qualities about them. It will be interesting to see what the Humane Society has to say about our brochure. We should be getting feedback from them very soon, I believe. When we do, we can spend the weekend finalizing the brochures and get ready to submit them.

I have rated the brochures pretty much exactly like you did. While having all these positives, the 5 minute test made me analyze the brochures from a completely different perspective and made me more critical about certain things that we have done. I do think that we have obtained all the + required for an effective brouchure but i can see a lot of areas where we can make the brochures even better. I shall get in touch with everyone and suggest changes in accordance to Human Society, Ryan and my own opinions.
I really think that we have done a good job but there is definitely room for making it even better.
