5:00 – Appeal to Emotions (+)
I think that both our brochures have a strong appeal to their audiences’ emotions. The images and graphics used in both the brochures, while informative, are very emotionally compelling. However, I do feel that some pictures need to be adjusted and altered a little to create an even stronger effect. Overall text content is very good and appealing in both brochures.

4:00 – Be Professional (+)
Both the brochures are composed in a very professional manner. The text alignment, consistency, picture adjustments and space used makes these brochures very professional and attractive.

3:40 – Be Personal (+)
The brochures are written keeping the audiences needs in mind which makes both the brochures very personal.

3:00 – Achieve Readability (+)
The brochures’ readability is one of the major strengths of the brochures. The material is spaced out well and information is presented in a very simple and logical way. The information flows very well and is broken into components in very distinctive sections.

2:30 – Speak the Language (+)
The language used is extremely simple and easy to understand for all audience. The simplicity of the communication makes these brochures effective in targeting any audience.

2:00 – Lead with Benefits (-/+)
I think both the brochures focus on their goals very well and benefits that can be obtained from them are clearly stressed on. However, I do feel that the benefits parts do not really apply that much in cases of these brochures. They are definitely doing the job they are meant to with respect to their goals.

1:20 – Have a single message (+)
This part is done extremely well in both the brochures. There is just the right amount of information with a consistent message throughout.

: 50 – Focus on single product or service (+)
Both the brochures only address their respective product and service. This is done effectively.

: 20 – Make Action Call (+)
Both the brochures urge the reader to take action. The brochures give the readers meaningful reasons to take action and make them feel responsible to take those actions

I think that we did a good job with the images for the most part as well. Did you have a specific suggestion as to something that could be improved? You mentioned some being altered to create an even stronger effect. I’d like to hear your ideas. Also, I think we did a nice job achieving readability because each brochure is focused on a single idea. Because of this, there is not too much information crammed into either brochure. This helps the flow of the brochure. As I wrote in my response to Archit’s reading response, I am interested to see what the Humane Society has to say about our brochures.
