This week has been yet another challenge. Starting on Monday, I was unable to make it to class due to some transportation issues. On Wednesday, I was able to help docs and testing hook up with backend to start the information gathering process so that doc and testing could start working on the change document for the login, paypal, and adding and uploading document in the members page. Currently doc and testing is waiting on backend to get more information on that, but backend is waiting on front-end so that they can place their items on the website.

This week was another stand still for the documents and testing group. Monday we were supposed to start getting some feedback from the backend team in order to begin writing the change document, but they ended up not being quite ready since they were still waiting on the front-end team to complete some of their tasks first.

This week the class finally got a grasp on everything. On Monday I wasn't able to make it to class, because I couldn't make it back in time due to traffic and weather issues. Our team saw much progress throughout each team. This week I stuck mainly with the front-end and designer teams. The front-end learned how to code the information and place things properly, so, things are going well with them as of now. The designer team pretty much has everything done. They are still working on images and some graphics to put in the site.

This week was another slow week for the documents and testing group. Monday was there was not much to do since none of the front-end code had been started. This put all of the groups at a stand still. However, the group was able to collaborate on how we could format the change document and conduct the testing. Monday proved to be the slowest day of the week and this was all that was accomplished.

This week was probably the least productive period for the documents and testing team. As of now we have only a single page to work with, so adjusting the design plan is no more of a possibility than when we had the static .JPEG mockup of the site. Once the pages are all built and links ready I will be able to run them through CSS and HTML validators to make sure the coding is sound. After that I will send my audience survey out and wait for feedback on how easy or difficult it is to update the site. The next step will be to build the change document.

This week was very slow for the documents and testing team. I was out of town on Monday, but I talked on instant messenger during class to see what I was supposed to work on for the next class. After talking to Scott, we were still waiting on the front end and back end teams to have a working website to create the change document and to start the testing. So therefore, I did not work any outside of class for Wednesday.

Week 15 Blog: The manage directory page has started the development phase. This is based off the asp 101 webpage which contains the code that David showed me in class. This code can be sent images or file directories. This should be as easy as just setting the directory variable equal to the directory that houses the documents. Today in lab however, made it difficult to get any of this done so this will have to be completed sometime between now and Monday, which is when our testing begins. This will allow employees to post new documents to be viewed on the server.

For Week 14, I was finally able to begin most of the debugging. After the ridiculous delays caused by switching servers several times and not having an adequate testing server, I debugged the pages I had previously created. The jobs section of the website should be fully functional now, so that the admin can add, edit, or delete a job from the database. The "View Jobs" page is still functional and ready for the front-end team to take it away and add functionality such as JavaScript to hide jobs until a user clicks on it to expand the content.

While a little late, I felt it important to still reflect on the work done this week. With only one workday in class before break, only a few things were completed. The design team met and I led in narrowing down the images the client had provided us for use on the website. I also spoke with the front end coders to see where they were at, but they said they would need more time. Essentially I am ready to go to create graphics as soon as the opportunity is available.

This week was a very short week because we had no class on Wednesday and Friday, so there isn’t too much to talk about. I was working primarily with Ryan of the front end team to determine what we can do to get the web site done. He showed me what they were originally planning to do, and we work on determining how to create a website using CSS with the help of the back end team. We worked with the back end team to determine how create a web page using CSS, and we worked on determining who can do what in their group.
