Goal: Please the Maximum Number of Reviewers

Overall, I am drained by the amount of resume help I have been getting recently. Not just these readings, but from other classes and workshops that I've attended. I really think that resumes will not please everyone, but that the resume should be designed and written to please the maximum number of reviewers as possible. Although I have had a lot of help already, these readings shined light on new areas that I have left in the dark until now.

Body First, Intro Last

This reading response focuses closely on my recent experiences when writing my job ad analysis. Tips from Chapter 8 - Organizing and Drafting have aided me with my detection of flaws in my writing. Before writing, I should outline key points that I want to convey. I also am willing to try to writing the body of my text first, and finishing with the introduction.

HVAC/Mechanical Engineer Analysis

The job that I will apply for is entitled Mechanical Engineer, and I found it posted on Monster.com. The job is for a company called Ghafari, Inc.

Reading Response-Week 2

Everyone should benefit and receive new insight from reading Chapter 15. The chapter provides tips on finding jobs; tactics for writing eye-catching resumes; help on writing cover letters; guidance for creating a portfolio; and etiquette and manners for acing an interview. This chapter focuses on every aspect of securing a job, but I will focus mainly on the resume portion. I believe the resume is the most important part of the job search process. Many people will say that the interview is the most crucial.

Reading Response-Week 1

Chapter three, Readers and Contexts of Use, emphasizes many key points about a technical document that are sometimes overlooked and not used as much as they are needed. These key points are knowing your readers' profiles and how the readers will use this document. The chapter also shows how to create reader and context analysis charts, search specifically in an internet search engine, and how to communicate with different cultures.
