Topic: New Opportunities in Hydro Electric Power

When I was researching for new developments in hydro power, I stumbled upon small hydro power units which I covered in my second research blog. For my third research blog I wanted to go more in depth about what small hydro power units that were available today.

In looking for small hydro power units, I found a lot of new ideas and inventions for hydro power on http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/technology/hydro. When looking over most of the inventions the things that most of them included was using wasted ocean and sea’s resources. These resources include the energy from waves and currents that certain inventions that hydro power technologies could use. Clean energy can be made from flowing waters and the website explains that plans are under way for 875 submerged turbines to be installed inside the Niagara River. Another invention that caught my eye was using currents in rivers and oceans to make propellers move like windmills under water. This will create substantial energy that will last forever and create endless energy. This use of untapped resources will help hydro power reach new levels. These options are not available for our natural resources that are getting depleted.

I want to use this information in our white paper project to explain the options that all governments have with hydro power. With these basically invisible power generators, hydro power will take up useless areas.
