As I have been looking online for some good resources to use for this project I have had some trouble. While looking I came across the website http://www.abanet.org/intelprop/opensource.html. This website contains a lot of information pertaining to what open source is all about. It contains information regarding different types of open source programming, the history of open source, and the benefits of using open source. The most resourceful part of the site would be the information pertaining to the benefits of open source programming. This is the main point that we are trying to get across to our users. The main benefit of open source programming would have to be that it is free to distribute these programs and put them on as many different computers that one deems fit. That is great for non-profit organizations that might not have the money required to purchase these programs and put them on their computers. Another benefit of these types of programs is the ability to openly be able to review the code and see how it operates on the inside. As mentioned in our proposal, we believe that people should be able to look inside programs and see what they are all about as a learning process. Programming can be taught, but being able to see a program work and then see what makes the program work is a very good benefit.
