In week fourteen, the students had to complete several tasks relative to the White Paper Project. At the beginning of the week, I was mainly responsible for our white paper thumbnail. I used several suggested items from the examples offered on the course website. Utilizing all of the space and inserting special locations for text boxes and graphics, my thumbnail design was optimal for what our group was explaining. Aesthetically, because our white paper subject involves renewable energy and environmental awareness, I used colors and pictures to remind readers the ultimate purpose of the white paper. This can be achieved by using a lot of green and pictures of a healthier environment.
In addition to the thumbnail design I provided my group, I also was responsible for the solutions area of our research. Collectively, our group decided to split up the work load of the research into four areas: problem, solution, technical data, and performance. I decided to research about two potential sources for a wind turbine product. I looked for availability, effectiveness, and compatibility in turbine technology. After researching different companies, I found the two that I though best represented what our group wanted to explain, Skystream and Swift Wind Turbine. Also, I looked into potential state regulations that offered potential customers more savings next to energy costs. I found both federal and Indiana’s tax regulations in relation to owning a product that offers a residence alternative renewable energy.
