This week was primarily spent researching and preparing to write the rough draft. I began the week by researching the main differences between the three browsers that we are comparing. The other members of my group are researching the individual browsers, but since I am the writer I need at least an idea of the general differences between the browsers to start. After researching these differences, I began to research the needs of IT departments. I found several websites that laid out the future needs of information technology as well as requirements that companies should look for before they commit to a new technology. These websites helped me to figure out where I will need to focus my writing in order to relate directly to our audience's needs.
The rest of the week was spent preparing to write the rough draft. Using the information that I found while researching, I decided which features were important to our audience and needed to be included in the white paper. I designed my version of our white paper thumbnail and commented on everyone else's thumbnails. After finishing with the thumbnails I wrote a rough outline and draft for the introduction of the white paper. As the other members of my group post their research summaries and outlines online, I will write the individual sections of the white paper and finally, the conclusion.
